Thank you for your interest in joining us for our recreational baseball program! We’re excited to see all these young athletes get back out onto the fields! In order for this to happen, we must stick to a strict schedule which will allow time for us to make all of our preparations.
Please read the following information carefully so you are aware of how everything will run this season. Our baseball committee is committed to continue making changes and improvements to ensure we offer the best experience possible for our players and the continued improvement of our program. We ask that all of you work with us in our effort to improve our program and make GCAA baseball the best baseball program around.
CostThe cost for T Ball players is $105 per child; Machine Pitch, Minors and Majors will be $115 per player and The Bigs will be $140 per player. This fee includes a $10 fund raising fee which can be earned back by selling your 5 $2.00 raffle tickets.
All late registrations will be charged a $15 late fee no exceptions.
EquipmentAll players will receive a team shirt, and hat. Players are responsible for providing their pants (your coach will let you know what color you need), belt and socks (if necessary/wanted), baseball glove, helmet, and bat.
Player Rating and DraftAll players in machine pitch (7& 8 year olds), minors (9 & 10 year olds), and majors (11 & 12 year olds) will be required to attend a player rating session at the GCAA complex. All players will run through a series of drills and each coach will have an opportunity to take a look at all of the “free agents”. Once the coaches complete their scoring, they will convene to begin drafting their teams. If a family has 2 children playing in the same division, those kids will be guaranteed to be on the same team unless requested otherwise by the parents. If 1 child is drafted then the other child will automatically be selected as that coaches next round pick. T Ball (4, 5, & 6 year olds) do not attend assessments. They will be randomly placed on teams by the computer.
PracticeAll teams will have 2 practices per week, before games start. You’ll receive additional information from your child’s coach after the coaches draft selection. Coaches and parents, please ensure you arrive to practice on time. We have several teams that need to use our facilities and the fields are scheduled to ensure everyone receives an equal amount of time.
Fall: Registrations are in July. Practices begin in August. Games are September and October.
Spring: Registrations are in January. Practices begin in March. Games run from late March to early June.
