The Cleveland area has always been a hot-bed of youth baseball. GCAA is proud to continue that tradition. We offer recreational baseball for ages 5-13. We also offer Senior league baseball when we have enough interest. Baseball is offered in both the spring and fall seasons. The fall season is an instructional league perfect for the first time player or the more skillful player that wants to stay on top of his game. We sponsor All-Star teams for our Coach Pitch, Midget, and Little League; players represent us proudly in county, district and state tournaments in the Tarheel league.
Baseball players receive jerseys, caps and socks. Parents supply baseball pants. We also have select teams for players wanting a higher level of competition. These teams play against other select teams in the area.
T-Ball: 5 and 6-year-old boys and girls are eligible to play t-ball. This league is a fantastic introduction to American’s Pastime. Players begin to learn the concepts of position play, hitting and which way to first base. No league standings are kept.
Coach Pitch for 7 and 8-year-olds is a little more advanced. This league gives the player the opportunity to hit off the live pitching of the coach and to hone fielding, throwing and base running skills.
Midget League: 9 and 10-year-olds further their skills and begin to learn the art of pitching.
Little League for 11 and 12-year-olds is the time where most players decide if baseball is their game. It is still a lot of fun but the skill level to be successful increases.
Greater Cleveland Athletic Association sponsors Select teams in Spring Baseball. Tryouts are open to players on our recreation team rosters. Tryouts will be announced on our website.

Softball is a fast growing sport here at Greater Cleveland Athletic Association. Our program focuses on giving our girls an enjoyable experience while teaching them the fundamentals of softball. We also teach discipline, good sportsmanship, dedication, and leadership. We use softball as a vehicle to enhance our young ladies in a positive manner and to also keep them physically active. Our girls have the opportunity in both spring and fall to learn and develop their skills. Softball is offered for T-Ball, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U. We play our games at the GCAA Complex, but sometimes travel to neighboring towns such as Meadow, Micro, Smithfield, and Clayton (mainly the older girls).

Basketball is second only to soccer in number of participants. We offer nationally recognized high school rules with age appropriate exceptions. GCAA offers basketball for ages 5-16. The age cutoff for each league is January 1. We hold coaches’ clinics before practices begin to help new and experienced coaches refine drills and activities to ensure a fun and rewarding experience for the players.
Billy Bounce: a new instructional introduction to basketball skills for the youngest hoopsters. 5 and 6-year-olds are kept busy learning basketball skills while having fun in a group setting. The instructors also draft the parents to participate and learn in this high energy fun-filled environment. Billy Bounce - The Coolest Bug in the World!
The 7-8 league is co-ed and highly instructional.
The 9-10 league and older leagues are separated into girls and boys leagues.

Greater Cleveland Athletic Association provides a positive recreational soccer experience for children aged 3 to 15. We strive to maintain a balance between teaching soccer skills, citizenship, sportsmanship, and healthy competition by dividing teams as evenly as possible through skills assessments and a coaches draft. We have minimum participation rules in all leagues to ensure that all players, no matter their skill level, become a vital part of the team. We offer soccer in the spring and in the fall. Shin guards are required in all leagues. Metal cleats are not allowed.
GCAA joined the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association to further enhance the soccer experience of our participants. Our age cutoff date for soccer is August 1. (For example, a player wanting to register for the U06 league must not be older than 6 on August 1 of the current year.)
GCAA also sponsors Travel teams to offer our players a higher level of competition.
