Our practice is to leave everyone wait-listed for each age division until two things happen: (1) a head coach is registered and (2) there are enough children to fill the team. Once a coach is registered, we will release and notify sufficient players (in the order they registered) to fill the team. This procedure continues as coaches register and sufficient players are signed up. It is rare that players are not released at some point before the end of late registrations. Unfortunately, it is quite common for wait-listed players to remain wait-listed throughout the early days of registrations and often near the tail end of the registration period.
Coaches and players register at various times—some early and others late—but mostly late. A majority of coaches and players tend to register close to the end of registrations, and, still quite a number of them during the last week of registrations. But, as mentioned before, it is actually quite rare that parents do not eventually step up and volunteer to coach. We sometimes have to do a bit of poking and prodding, but the roles are eventually filled and players released and notified.
If you are wait-listed, you are guaranteed your place in line in the order you registered once a coach becomes available.
Wait-listed players who REGISTER during EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION will STILL receive the EARLY BIRD PRICE when they are accepted/released from the wait-list so long as they check out within 2 days after receiving such notification (Please note our system will automatically send you an email notification once we accept your child and release them from the wait-list). IF for some reason your cart should but does not reflect the Early Bird Price, please email us ASAP @ firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can adjust the price and you can checkout. IMPORTANT-PLEASE NOTE: IF you do not log back in and check-out within 3 days after being accepted from being wait-listed, your shopping cart may be deleted and someone else allowed to register in your place. You would then have to go through the steps or re-registering, and, possibly getting wait-listed again.
If you want to increase your child's chances of being released from the wait-list early, register early. If you want to nearly guarantee it, register early and volunteer to coach. We will help you get the training you need to fulfill the role including the option of setting you up with a mentor coach. Dates for Coach Training from NCFC will be forth coming.
We are confident that if you are available and willing, we can help you fulfill the role as coach. Plus we offer this coaching incentive.
If you have any additional questions regarding this subject, please email your questions to email@example.com.
Games and practices are to be suspended whenever lightning is seen or thunder is heard (no matter how far away it may seem) or whenever weather conditions make it unsafe to play. It is the shared responsibility of Coaches, Parents, and Officials to ensure this policy is made known and enforced.
The mere presence of rain, however, does not mean that games will be cancelled. Our policy is to attempt to play all games when feasible. Even recent hard rain may not affect our games. The GCAA Sports Chairperson or appointed personnel will determine field playability as soon as reasonably possible prior to the beginning of games. On-field officials can cancel a game at the field of play, if necessary. Coaches are not to call off games without authorization from a member of the GCAA Sports Committee.
1) There is standing water on the field.
2) The fields are wet to the point where playing the game will destroy the playing surface.
3) It is raining at the time of the scheduled game and the temperature is low enough to make conditions unbearable for the children.
4) The presence of thunder or lightning. The first lightning strike will cause a 30 minute delay, with subsequent strikes resetting the 30 minute delay.
If games start and the weather turns bad and necessitates the cancellation of later games it will be communicated to you as soon as possible. We strongly encourage each parent to check the website, emails, and or texts prior to coming to the fields for games. If you have not been notified of any adverse weather conditions, postponements, or cancellation up to 30 minutes prior, then everyone should assume that all matches for that day are being played as scheduled.
Whenever play is suspended EVERYONE shall leave the field and take shelter in substantial buildings or in cars with the windows rolled up. Avoid small rain shelters, dugouts, bleachers, trees, metal fences, gates, power poles, etc. Play shall not resume until 30 minutes from the last lightning or thunder. The maximum time for suspended play is 45 minutes, after which the game is called off.
Each sport uses different methods of communication in the event of inclement weather that requires practices or games to be cancelled:
Baseball - Email and send Rained Out text
Basketball - TBD
Soccer - Emails and texts registered GCAA members via the SI Play communication system. Updates the website's "Field Status" page for organizations and teams traveling to GCAA fields and sends our "Rained Out" texts to individuals who have registered with this service.
Softball - Emails and texts registered GCAA members via the SI Play communication system. For travel tournaments, the USSSA Director is reached and the Director contacts the teams. For games with the county, calls or emails are made to the coach or area director.
Volleyball - TBD
We will do everything in our power to play all scheduled games that are listed on each team's schedule. Due to field availability and time constraints, GCAA will not guarantee that matches will be rescheduled.

We do our best to honor requests but CANNOT guarantee any specific team assignments for any player. You may request a teammate, a coach, or a practice day (or to avoid a day because of church, dance, scouts, or other prior commitments).
Understand that practice nights and coaches are not guaranteed to remain the same from season to season. A coach or parent may request a specific day for practice, but we again CANNOT guarantee consistency from season to season--not for teams as a whole, coaches, or players. If the day you practice is a deal-breaker (more important to you than the same team or coach) make sure you state such during registration.
Fall: Registrations are June thru end of July. The season is mid-August thru October.
Spring: Registrations are mid November thru end of January. The season is mid-Febrary thru end of April.
LAST DAY of Spring 2020 Regular Registration is Jan 31, 2020! We will NOT have LATE registration this Year so you MUST Register by 1/31/20***.
**Spring 2020 EARLY BIRD Registration Ends Jan 15, 2019 **
We DO NOT accept check payments for registrations. Please use a credit card and checkout online. IF for some reason you absolutely CANNOT pay using a creditcard online, please email us @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
Weather is unpredictable and can impact practices and games. Practices will not be made up but GCAA will make every effort to reschedule games and Academy showcases. Please understand that due to circumstances out of the control of GCAA, this is not always possible.
All players require a new uniform each Fall season. Uniforms will be re-used in the Spring. If your child played soccer in the Fall season at GCAA, he or she will use the same uniform as the Fall season pending he or she is on the same team. If your child did not play in the Fall, you will be required to purchase a uniform for the Spring season.
If you have lost the uniform or would like to purchase another uniform you will need to email email@example.com. If you make a request resulting in a team change for the Spring season, you will be required to purchase a new uniform.
Please understand that no refunds will be issued if you order the wrong uniform size. Uniforms for U6-U12 includes jersey, shorts, and socks. See sizing chart below.
