Travel Soccer Risk Management
Volunteering with Cleveland United Travel Soccer
North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA) requires anyone volunteering as a team official (Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager) and Adult Athletes (18 and older) to complete the Risk Management process at the start of every fall season. Anyone joining mid-season will have to complete the process before working with a team.
Risk Management application, SafeSport training, and Background check
ATTENTION Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Managers and Adult Athletes:
If you are new to Cleveland United, please read this Overview to fully understand the risk management process. Each Coach, Volunteer, or Adult Athlete (18 and older) must complete the current year application at nc.sinchq.com and SafeSport Sexual Abuse and Awareness training to participate in Cleveland United activities.
Adult Athletes (17 and older) should read this Overview for information on risk management. These tasks are required for any participation in Cleveland United (Greater Cleveland Athletic Association) activities and must be completed at the following intervals:
- Initial volunteer registration
- Every fall registration period
** Please note that background checks are done through our governing body, NCYSA. The GCAA Background check for baseball/softball/basketball/volleyball DOES NOT apply to any of the GCAA soccer programs. **
All Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Managers, and Adult Athletes must complete the NCYSA background check to be eligible to be on the field with any GCAA soccer program. NCYSA Background checks, Risk Management, and SafeSport training must be done once per year, with the calendar resetting each Fall Season.
EFFECTIVE WITH THE 2024-2025 SEASONAL YEAR
- Athletes that are 18 years old or older at time of registration will not be eligible to participate (this includes training), their name will not appear on the team roster and their player pass will not be generated until they have completed the NCYSA Adult Athlete RM application and have been approved by NCYSA.
